COURSE DETAILS

STUDENT PROFILE

This course is designed for people looking to improve their ICT skills and gain an accredited qualification. There are no formal entry requirements. However, we usually advise learners to attempt Level 2 before registering for Level 3.

COURSE OUTLINE

The course is divided into modules as follows:

Compulsory Units

  • Unit 1 - Internet Research
  • Unit 2 - Data Handling
  • Unit 3 - Word Prcessing
  • Unit 4 - Practical Application of ICT

Optional Units

  • Unit 1 - Personal Computer Configuration
  • Unit 2 - Graphics
  • Unit 3 - Music Technology
  • Unit 4 - Complex Data Handling
  • Unit 5 - Programming
  • Unit 6 - Web Design

DURATION

This course can be completed through a long distance course. Study for the ICT programmes can take from as little as one month, although a period of 3 to 12 months is more usual

STUDY PACK

As this is a distance learning course, you will receive a study pack containing all of your study materials. You will not be required to make any further purchases from the centre, although you will still need to attend an examination and pay the appropriate fee

ASSESSMENT

Assessment at Level 3 of the programme is through assignments marked by a tutor.

ACCREDITATION

The Award in ICT is accredited as a Level 3 qualification by the regulatory authorities in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Holders of the Award may progress on to further studies. This course is externally moderated

SUPPORT

Support comes from the teachers in the centre. Support will be given from the teachers for the period the student is enrolled, all our teachers are very helpful and will help a student deal with any enquiry they might have.
