COURSE DETAILS
STUDENT PROFILE
The course has been developed to meet the academic needs and interests of international students. Students will improve their English competence, develop English exam skills (IELTS or TOEFL), develop academic skills and study English in a real context (CLIL). They will be given the opportunity to choose vocational courses as part of their preparation
COURSE OUTLINE
The course is divided into 4 modules as follows:
- 1. General English and Introduction to Academic Skills.
- 2. English for Academic Purposes and exam preparation
- 3. English for Specific Purposes (Business Studies, Human Resources and Management Studies), Research Skills, Academic Writing and a vocational course level 1.
- 4. CLIL (content and language integrated learning): English for Specific Purposes (such as English for Management, Administration, Business, Law, Medicine, Engineering etc) and a level 2 course.
DURATION
It is a one year programme. Each module lasts 12 weeks. Students study for 25 hours per week.
ASSESSMENT
This course is assessed through a series of assignments, progress tests, end of level tests and a TOEFL iBT test (free for students enrolled for the 4 modules)
ACCREDITATION
The vocational part of the course is validated by one of our awarding bodies
SUPPORT
Support comes from the teachers in the centre. Support will be given from the teachers for the period the student is enrolled, all our teachers are very helpful and will help a student deal with any enquiry they might have.
