METHODS OF TUITION
Our main aim is to help all our students to learn as much English as they need for whatever they plan to do when they leave the College, be that following a course of academic study, involvement in business or simply for personal use.
We believe that language learning should be an enjoyable activity, so students are taught using a variety of materials and text books, students will also be taught by a variety of teachers which is recommended by Scholars of EFL. All our courses are based on recognised and well known course books. We also use a variety of games and quizzes to help our students learn English in a fun and relaxed way.
We use these text books alongside teachers own materials and we also use modern equipment such as DVDs, TVs, Computers and projectors. Students will be given homework regularly to improve their English Skills and they will have mock tests regularly to monitor they progress and to prepare them for the exam.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
These courses prepare students for internationally recognised English qualifications to enhance their career and education opportunities worldwide. Students study all the components of the relevant exams including practise tests with past exams. Language upon Thames' exam preparation courses combine some General English classes with specialist classes to practise exam skills and strategies. We also supply individual feedback and support with registering for the exams.
TOEFL
The Test of English as a Foreign language is widely recognised and is accepted by universities in over 130 countries. It can be paper based or internet based. You can prepare for exam in our centre and also take the TEOFL iBT in Alpha Omega, as we are an authorised exam centre.
IELTS
The 'International English Language Testing System' is the prime exam required for entry into British, Canadian and Australian universities and colleges. Students can achieve a score from 1 to 9. Typical scores required for entry into British universities range from 5.5 to 7.5 depending on the course.
