METHODS OF TUITION

Our main aim is to help all our students to learn as much English as they need for whatever they plan to do when they leave the College, be that following a course of academic study, involvement in business or simply for personal use.

Courses focus on speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in a university environment. Students are prepared for degree level at UK universities by:

• Becoming familiar with the academic environment and conventions of the British Higher Education system.
• Listening to academic lectures.
• Taking effective notes.
• Reading academic texts quickly and effectively.
• Expressing ideas clearly and accurately in academic writing.
• Giving oral presentations.
• Learning specific vocabulary connected with the student’s subject of interest.
• Preparing teh right vocabulary for the student's field of interest/future employment.

All courses are taught through classes, within the college. Students have individual tutorials (one-to-one sessions with their Personal Tutor) to discuss their academic progress.
