STUDENT PROFILE

This programme is designed for people who wish to gain an understanding of principles and practice of Care Skills based on residential care facilities. No prior knowledge is required.

2: Vitamins and Minerals:

  • Sources and functions of vitamins and minerals
  • Why are they so important?

3: Nutrition:

  • About nutrition
  • Nutritional values of food
  • Healthy diets, safe food hygiene
  • Helping with dietary selection
  • Assisting with eating and drinking
  • Monitoring intake.

4: Pressure Care:

  • About pressure sores
  • How sores develop

5: Elimination:

ASSESSMENT

This course is assessed through a series of tutor marked assignments. No attendance at an exams centre is required.

ACCREDITATION

The course leads to the award of the Certificate in Care Skills (Level 2) from OCNW, a leading UK awarding body recognised by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority.

SUPPORT

Support comes from the teachers in the centre. Support will be given from the teachers for the period the student is enrolled, all our teachers are very helpful and will help a student deal with any enquiry they might have.
